Purim is the day that all children wait for: friends, Purim gifts, endless festivities, and of course fancy dress. But there are children for whom it is a painful day, another day of treatments, sadness and loneliness.
The Hope for Life health organization organized a perfect, happy Purim carnival for the children with cancer who are treated in the oncological unit in the Emek Hospital in Afula, in order to make the children and their families happy and give them a holiday atmosphere like everyone else.
The children were happy, they sang, danced and smiled profusely. They enjoyed the performance of Mr. Golly the clown, who entertained the children and their parents and also the medical team who do their utmost for these nice children. The children also enjoyed the food stalls, with Belgian waffles in different flavors, and a chocolate fountain that provided the chidren with a never-ending abundance of flavors. The children also left happily with Purim gifts filled with goodies and other special presents, all to make the children feel good.
The unit’s head, Prof. Gavriel Herzl, and the head nurse, Ms. Shula Bakal, thanked the organization for the wonderful production and for everything it gave the unit’s children, and of course there were abundant thanks and smiles from the children and their families.
